Bike Tours Frequently Asked Questions

Christchurch is a very ride-able city. The speed limit for motorised vehicles (cars) in the city is 30km per hour. We recommend riding on the many shared paths and cycleways wherever possible.

Yes, New Zealand law requires that cyclists wear a helmet. We provide these for our tours at no extra cost.

There is parking available on both Armagh St and Gloucester St, plus the Art Gallery with underground parking. Alternatively try free parking around Cranmer Square or Hagley Park. If you are stopping for 10 min there is a free park directly across the road outside the Old Provincial Chambers on Durham St.

Full refund less 15% deposit (admin fee) if you cancel more than one month prior to start.

No refund if you cancel one month or less prior to start.

If the tour is cancelled by Chill due to circumstances outside our control, a refund less 15%. This is at the discretion of the guide, and safety is the most the most important consideration.

Yes we are happy to. It will either be safe with one of our team at the studio or locked up if we are all out on tour.

Flat shoes and comfortable clothes you can ride in. In cooler weather a light rain jacket is a good idea, as are gloves. If you want to carry water or other items please bring a backpack.

In case of rain the bike tour will be changed to a walking tour, umbrellas can be provided by Chill.

Yes, we can take you on an Urban Explore Tour for a small additional fee if you are less than 3 people. Please get in touch with us to discuss pricing.
